Here I document some procedures I've found useful in the continuing process of OS X security configuration. All are written for Panther (OS X 10.3.9) but should be forwards-compatible to Tiger and Leopard since they refer to pretty standard parts of OS X's vaunted 'UNIX underpinnings'. I have however NOT tested them on 10.4 or 10.5 - if you do so then please .

• Configuring Clamav's clamd daemon for improved virus-scanning performance
• Back up your iTunes and iPhoto databases
